This isnt a hotel but a hostel to start, so you should know what you are getting. The receptionist is very nice and polite :) always a smile & feel welcomed. She accomodated my late checking at 8am !!. The place is IMPECCAbLY CLEAN. - for how old the facility is, the receptionist works hard and was always cleaning and helpful. Its pretty spacious, has a kitchen and location is great. AC on at night, but even during the day i didnt feel hot with a fan on because my 4 person room was far in the facility, my bed had half curtains which was why i picked it for $4 usd more per night, (just hang your clothes to make a full curtain). Space was a bit crammed on the 4 person dorm but they have free lockers available in room (bring your own lock). If you dont have your own towel, its $4 to rent. Also their WIFI speed is very fast & reliable like 500 MBPS, faster than the garbage we have in Canada. 😂. I want to say that i looked thru a lot of Singapore hostel reviews on bookings & hostelwork, people complained about EVERY hostel not having a backpacker vibe. I think frankly its just the nature of Singapore, its not a backpacker country. Its not really the fault of any establishments. Europeans are just entitled to think all of s.e asia e asia is some amusment park for them to drink their heads off & socialize. Keep it real; this place n its staff works hard and you can see. For $18 its totally fine for a few or 2., i had no issues.
Here is why i would recommend you to Stay away: Summary: Decent location, disgusting staircase, acceptable cleanliness, horrible atmosphere. Don’t expect more than three hours of sleep. No curtains between the beds/ no privacy. Only three showers and three toilets — and one of them is always out of order. As other reviews have mentioned, this place is not for backpackers. Poor gender balance too, since it seems like there’s a group of men who live here permanently…?? Is it kinda cheap, but this hostel is just over its prime time. In the reception there is many rewards of how great this hostel was, but its all from 2012/2012 and it seems like they have given up on it since then. The atmosphere is the worst. We had to tell a girl to shut off the light at 06:00 in the morning. She kept it on til 07:00 since she didnt manage to pack the day before. Instead of taking all her stuff outside the room and packing in the living room, she turned on the lights and opened the door and packed in our room. This waked the entire room. This one time thing wouldnt be a dealbreaker for me alone. But it perfectly shows how little respect the people in the hostel had for each other. Every Night was the same, lights flicked on at random times, doors bring left opened for long time (light from the living room lighted up the entire room). Writing more is not worth of my time, i think you Get the idéa. If you Are backpacker/need some sleep/want a good atmosphere. Stay away, if any of these problems dont seem to bother you. Go ahead and book it, it is quite cheap for Singapore.
We are a group of four travelling from Manila booked a private room with shared facilities. Check in and out was easy, shared facilities were kept clean, and people were overall friendly. Highly recommend for a hostel. If you're looking for a "hotel" your in a wrong place😜. Its just old minus one star.
I stayed at this hostel for 4 nights, and as a budget option, it delivers exactly what you pay for—basic but functional. Things to keep in mind: Check-in: Timings are quite strict—8 AM to 12 PM, then 4 PM to 8 PM. There’s no staff between 12 noon and 4 PM. Late check-ins after 8 PM are possible but cost $8 per person, and you’ll need to inform them in advance (responses can take a while). Cleanliness & Facilities: Rooms are decent, and staff member Neisa does her best to keep things tidy. Washrooms are okay, though they could be maintained better—an automatic flush is a nice touch. The property is on the 4th floor with no lift, so carrying heavy luggage can be a challenge. Air conditioning in dorms runs only from 9 PM to 9 AM. 20$ refundable deposit Location: Excellent—walking distance to Clarke Quay, Chinatown, Little India, and Fort Canning Park. Vibe: Ideal for solo travellers or backpackers who just need a place to sleep at night and plan to be out exploring all day. If you’re after a livelier hostel atmosphere or more comfort, you might want to check out the Ibis Budget Hotel next door or other hostels in the area. Summary: A decent hostel for the price paid.
The hostess is an Incredible women, for her to be doing this all on her own is courageous. Talking about the Hostel, Yes, the rooms are clean, I did not find any pests or dirt, she cleans everything every day.... you'll see it when you visit. has bunker beds, lockers with lock, an entry key, 3 clean toilets and 3 bathrooms with the facility of water spray, and a toilet paper roll. The dining area has a kitchen top, a microwave, and a fridge with utensils. Say hi to her and ask her your query, and she'll be happy to help 😊
