We stayed here with our three adult teenage children. We had a private en suite room. It was great. The private bathroom was huge and the rooms are super comfortable. Hotel is in a great location centrally located would definitely stay here again. It does have a hostel feel and I guess you get that experience if you used to have share showers and bathrooms.
Never again. The location is good but that is the best thing about it. The staff is friendly and does the best they can, for that 2 stars. It is cheap, true but i would have slept quieter and more comfortable under a bridge. You hear everything, the pipe from the upper floor is going trough the room so every time somebody uses water, you wake up. Any time somebody is moving, you wake up because the whole structure is shaking. It was not very clean either and the socket in the "room" works 20 percent of the time at best. The ladder is a deathtrap for people who are slightly older. I can not recommend this hostel and i will never, ever set a foot in it again. It is just overall awful.
They even call it a boutique hostel, that's the best joke of the year. It's an okay place but a lot to improve, especially for these high prices. First the bathroom annex toilet, shower on top of the toilet, doesn't feel comfortable standing with bare feet. The breakfast is extremely simple, they serve the cheapest not healthy ingredients you can find in any supermarket. The terrace is next to huge outlets of airconditioning of the big building, sitting there is much hotter than on the street. The staff is okay, but no personal vibe or so, like the whole atmosphere in the hostel, no contact with others. Shoes are all around the outside door, it smells like crazy. Beds are good though, like the location.
We stayed at the private family room with private toilet/bath. The room was at the third floor, very spacious and well-maintained. Breakfast was okay: toast and cereals. Unlimited tea/coffee and water st the common area. A lot of backpackers yet did not feel crowded. Location was very near the MRT station. I recommend this place for a short stay.
We stayed in a room with 2 bed on top of each other. No table or other to lay things on, but it was clean, spacious and the location perfect. Be aware, that there is no elevator and hostel starts from 2nd floor. Room with window to the street is pretty load and somebody always rings the bell. Earplugs recommended.
